Year 6 to 7 Continuity Project

We have an exciting opportunity to take part in a continuity project led by and funded through the Maths Hub.

Overview:

This work group will consist of different teachers from different levels working together to improve communication between Key Stage 2 and 3. The main aim of this work is to improve continuity of learning by pupils between Year 6 and Year 7. Participants in this project will take an aspect of the mathematics curriculum or pedagogical approach as a focus for their work and develop a consistent approach to it through discussion, joint melssen planning and delivery, observation and the development of documentation to support continuity.

Who is it for?

This project is for KS3 secondary Maths teachers and KS2 primary teachers who will be linked from neighbouring primary and secondary schools. Teachers will have a drive to develop a shared understanding of the teaching that will give pupils the best opportunities to progress their mathematics between year 6 and year 7.

Ideally, we are looking for 3 secondary schools who will work closely with 2 or 3 of their feeder schools.

Dates:

Session 1 - Monday 27th January @CEME

Session 2 - Thursday 27th February at Broadford (Model lesson to observe from the Maths Hub)
